Met de nieuwe Engelse versie van de bestaande publicatie, voor het eerst verschenen in 2011, haakt uitgever Bouwen met Staal aan bij de groeiende internationalisering van onderwijs en praktijk in het constructief ontwerpen waarbij Engels de vanzelfsprekende voertaal is.
Like its Dutch counterpart, Structural Basics works as a textbook for students as well as a reference guide for engineers in practice, providing the elementary components of design and analysis of steel structures for buildings according to EN 1990 (Eurocode 0), EN 1991 (Eurocode 1) and EN 1993 (Eurocode 3).
Again Bert Snijder (Professor of Structural Design (Steel Structures) at Technical University Eindhoven) and Henri Steenbergen (senior researcher at TNO, Delft) are the authors. But this time the texts are based on the English version of the Eurocodes 0, 1 and 3, using default and/or recommended values. Black square-symbols indicate options of making a specific national choice. For Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the Netherlands separate national annexes will be supplied as free downloads in the near future.
